The 84 Random by Bocci is a performance act of raw natural origin. To form this abstract and otherworldly figure, a white glass moil is captured inside a fine copper mesh basket and then plunged into hot clear glass. Air is blown into the matrix to gently push the white glass through the mesh, creating a delicate pillowed form suspended inside the thick outer layer of glass. Sometimes the copper mesh basket folds and crinkles, as the exterior undulates, accentuating the gentle white pillowing below. A light source introduced into the piece casts a warm, coppery hue throughout the hand formed globes. These experimental pendants can be had in a variety of finishes, and are suspended alone or in groups of 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 14, 19, 20, 26, 36, 37, or 61 pendants, in either cluster or random configurations. The 84 Random suspends these living glass sculptures using coaxial cable grounded to a rectangular, round or square white powder coated canopy in various sizes and depths, composing the collection of pendants into an evocative ambient grouping. These evocative, pillowed glass sculptures can also be had as a Stem that places the pendants upon a versatile brass rod, while a Table Lamp and Sconce are also available.
