The 84 Table Lamp by Bocci is a performance act of raw natural origin. To form this abstract and otherworldly figure, a white glass moil is captured inside a fine copper mesh basket and then plunged into hot clear glass. Air is blown into the matrix to gently push the white glass through the mesh, creating a delicate pillowed form suspended inside the thick outer layer of glass. Sometimes the copper mesh basket folds and crinkles, as the exterior undulates, accentuating the gentle white pillowing below. A light source introduced into the piece casts a warm, coppery hue throughout the hand formed globes. Available in a variety of finishes, the 84 Table Lamp places the experimental pendants atop a brass cylinder, notched to allow for wall mounting if desired. The black fabric cord is semi-rigid, and may be sculpted to add form. These evocative, pillowed glass sculptures can also be had as a Random fixture, whose pendants hang at various heights for added depth, as well as a Stem that places the pendants upon a versatile brass rod, while a Sconce is available.
