Bocci 87 Series
The 87 Series by Bocci is a gorgeous result of a unique and tantalizing construction. Soda water is used to trap air in a molten glass matrix, which is then hand stretched and folded back onto itself numerous times. As the glass cools, the folding motion along the grain of the loop turns the entrapped air into microfilaments that give the piece a pearlescent shine. A light source introduced at the top of the loop casts light through the microfilaments, registering a warm gentle gradient of light. Available in a variety of finishes, the 87 Series can be hung alone or in clusters of 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 14, 19, 20, 26, 36, or 37 pendants, creating into a breathtaking ambience. These living glass sculptures are supported by coaxial cable grounded to either a small brushed nickel canopy, or a rectangular, round, or square white powder coated canopy, for use with swag suspension. the cables reaching out at a dramatic angle as the pendants appear to defy gravity, while smaller swag hooks mounted further from the main canopy provide support. A surface mount is also available for wall or ceiling use.
