The Anvers Collection by CTO Lighting exemplifies sculptural restraint — luminous discs of honed alabaster framed in hand-finished brass.
While each piece is crafted with the same artistry in London, two distinct electrical systems exist: one designed for Europe, the other for the United States.
At ROOM, we feature only the U.S.-listed versions of Anvers on our website. This keeps our designer experience simple, transparent, and code-compliant, while allowing us to provide European specifications privately when a project requires them.
In Europe, Anvers fixtures are engineered for 220–240 V systems and certified under CE / UKCA standards.
Certain versions carry an IP44 wet-rating, meaning they can be installed in bathrooms or exterior environments under European electrical codes.
These fixtures, while visually identical, are not UL-listed and therefore cannot be installed in U.S. projects governed by the National Electrical Code.
The fixtures ROOM presents are designed specifically for 120 V systems and UL-listed for dry and damp locations (not wet).
They are the same exquisite hand-made objects — simply adapted for American power, dimming, and junction-box requirements.
Each Anvers wall or ceiling fixture connects via a solid-brass mounting plate, engineered for either flush or rose (surface-mounted) installation.
The design hides all visible hardware and wiring, preserving the purity of the form — a principle central to CTO’s philosophy and ROOM’s curation standards.
The fixture body remains beautifully minimal; the driver is remote, quietly performing its function up to 65 feet away.
This separation of light and logic ensures performance, longevity, and ease of integration into both residential and hospitality environments.
ROOM’s mission is to simplify complexity for designers.
By showing only UL-listed, U.S.-ready versions online, we ensure that every specification aligns with American codes and expectations — no fine print, no confusion.
When a designer is working internationally or requires dual-voltage compatibility, we provide CTO’s full technical datasheets directly for review.
The distinction between U.S. and European models isn’t about limitation — it’s about precision.
Each version represents the same design integrity, tailored to the environment it serves.
This approach mirrors ROOM’s broader philosophy: thoughtful curation, quiet expertise, and respect for both craftsmanship and context.
