DeJong & Co.

According to founder Peter DeJong, the company  strives to live and work at the intersection of art and function, at a place where objects are simple and beautiful. The goods you own, the goods that make your life function, should be measured against a simple utility and a practical beauty.

DeJong & Co. was founded in 2014 in southern California by the De Jong family. The primary principals of the company began with the interior design of  Ruth DeJong and the furniture design and manufacturing of her brother, Peter DeJong.  Ruth DeJong is a production designer who has worked alongside directors such as David Lynch, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Terrence Malick.

Peter comes from a diverse background in fine woodworking, sculpture, music, luxury goods and production fabrication, as well as high-end commercial and residential construction.  his keen eye is apparent in many of the design details on each piece, such as the iconic bevels and handmade hardware on the signature mandelbrot collection, and the lustrous hand-rubbed oil and wax finishes.
